I love my job. I’ve worked with Youth for nearly 20 years and I’ve never had the opportunity to make such a positive impact in the lives of our Youth than in working for Attendance West. Every day we get an opportunity to change the course of someone’s life. Every child needs guidance and we do our best to keep our kids on the right path to have as many choices as possible in their lives.

My role here at Attendance West has evolved with the growth of our organisation. No matter the role, we are all a piece of a bigger puzzle. As a parent myself, the most profound part of this job is knowing that we have the ability to alter the course of a young person’s life. I consider it a privilege and also a responsibility to help them see how bright their future could be.

Jayde Mason
Inter-Agency Advisor
I have been working at Attendance West since the organisation started, which has given me an overall view on the state of attendance in our community. Through working in the admin space, and across multiagency tables I have confidence in supporting whanau not only with their children’s attendance, but the wellbeing of the family.

Complex Needs Advisor

I support our work in the family harm space by helping schools understand the challenges many families face. Growing up and living in Ranui all my life, I recognise that the foundation of a community is, in fact, the community. As a Pathway Advisor I hope to ensure that the future of our communities is built on a strong foundation. Reconnecting our younger generation is perhaps the most important step in this process and guiding our disconnected youth back into education is how I intend to strengthen the foundation of our future.

Beau Cortdz
Case Manager
I have had the privilege to work with youth from all backgrounds for the past 6 years and sharing my life experiences with most who can relate to how I was raised. Working in this space has always been a passion of mine to give back to the leaders of tomorrow and create safe spaces for rangatahi who don’t get to experience that often. I love what I do and I am grateful to be in a position to serve others in the community.

Josh Phillips

As a Case Manager I serve the role, the role does not serve me and as such, I come into this whānau with mātauranga (knowledge) that will serve its kaupapa (purpose). A tremendous opportunity to inspire the aspirations of rangatahi, whānau and hapori of the West.
Upwards and into infinity (Cpt. Light Buzzyear).
