This is the best service that we have used in the attendance space to help build trust and to support whānau who are struggling to get their kids to school regularly. The AW team communicates in a skilled and timely manner. The service is culturally appropriate which has been appreciated.

Attendance West took over in 2023 and the transformation in service was instant. With the partnership we have with Attendance West we have been able to reduce our chronic attendance group from 60% to 8.5% of our school.
Katie Pennicott, Principal
Having been involved in West Auckland schools for the last 20yrs, this has been the most responsive and robust agency we have worked with on attendance, The clear communication and information sharing is smooth, easy, fluid and timely.
Olivia Fugmann, Associate Principal

Since partnering with Attendance West, we have seen a noticeable improvement in student attendance and engagement across our school. Their proactive and culturally responsive approach has been instrumental in re-engaging students and supporting whānau to overcome barriers to regular attendance.

For some people we are the last hope, we are the service that can define what this family's future will look like, it's a big responsibility for us, it's challenging, but I wake up looking forward to making a difference.
There is one case that I will not forget, and that is a student who came from a lot of family harm and had high responsibility for their siblings. This student was not attending school, and in turn their siblings followed suit. They got supported by different agencies and [as] the role model for the family, began attending school again. All four siblings got re-enrolled and now have regular attendance. As much as I feel for this student and their situation, they rose above it and felt supported enough by our team's engagement, to get re-engaged into education.
I've learned that the most meaningful moments aren't always big gestures, but the small, everyday actions: listening, encouraging, and showing up. It's incredible to see the positive changes in the people I work with and to know I've played a part in that journey. In the end, it's about being there and letting people know they're not alone.
